Our client is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Systems Engineer to take a leading role in deploying and evolving a cutting-edge Manufacturing Execution System (MES) across global factory sites. This is a permanent, fully onsite position based in South Oxfordshire, with occasional international travel (~20%).
The successful candidate will play a key role in integrating shopfloor automation systems with enterprise platforms, driving data accuracy, operational efficiency, and smart factory innovation.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead MES integration across production lines and data platforms
- Design and implement PLC/Scada communications and automation networks
- Troubleshoot MES and machine data issues globally
- Leverage MES data for performance insights and predictive maintenance
- Collaborate with developers, engineers, and factory teams worldwide
- 5+ years' experience in automation, MES/SCADA, and industrial control
- Skilled in PLC programming (Siemens, Beckhoff, Allen Bradley)
- Strong grasp of OPC UA, Profinet, and industrial data protocols
- Proficient with Power BI, SQL, Python for data analytics
- Passionate about Industry 4.0, digital transformation, and continuous improvement
- Core hours with flexible working potential (up to 24 flexi-days for some roles)
