Morson Talent are currently recruiting for Slingers and Crane Supervisors to work on-site in Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth. Working safely in a maritime environment, you will be required to inspect lifting equipment to ensure its fit for use, mainly using chain blocks and fleeting techniques.

You will need to be competent in the general use of lifting equipment and tools related to the role, such as:

  • Fixed gantry (overhead traveller) cranes
  • Spreader bars
  • Plate clamps
  • Chain blocks

You will also need to have experience in the following areas:

  • Ability to read and interpret lifting instructions
  • Proven track record of completing work to time, cost and quality parameters
  • Ideally will have worked in the marine industry with experience of Royal Navy ships and submarines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels or large commercial ships although other relevant experience will be considered

Qualifications & Requirements

You must hold a valid slinging qualification such as CPCS A40 Blue / NPORS 402 / NVQ2 Moving of Loads / OPITO / Supervisor. The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years slinging experience, with experience on Ships and/or Submarines desirable but not essential. Have experience of heavy complex lifting operations.

Pay Rates

Slingers PAYE - £19.45 per hour Umbrella - £24.69
