Established in 1997 as the first manufacturer of sushi for the UK supermarket industry, Taiko has evolved into the most innovative manufacturer of Sushi, Food To Go, Prepared Meals and Snacking products in the UK, supplying Waitrose, Tesco and Sainsbury’s to name a few. Over the past 25 years Taiko has launched more first to market Sushi and Food to Go products than any other sushi manufacturer in the UK.

We are looking for a Process Technologist to translate NPD (New Product Development) products into the factory environment, ensuring product quality, safety, and commercial suitability while meeting customer expectations. The role involves proactively evaluating and improving processes through continuous Kaizen activities, as well as being an active member of the HACCP team to ensure all standards are met and maintained.

  • Attend feasibility and NPD meetings to understand and follow up on new products.
  • Liaise with the Commercial and QA teams to manage distribution changes and ensure correct documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Process Technologist to plan and execute product trials following Taiko launch procedures.
  • Assist in process improvement and ensure timely and accurate product validations for new or existing products.
  • Organise and oversee product trials, customer panel trials, and external lab testing, ensuring all related documentation is managed from start to finish.

What you’ll need:

  • Previous experience in a Food to go manufacturing environment in a similar role.
  • Understanding of the operation and products.
  • Understanding of the product development process, specifically planning and conducting trials, creating data for specifications and writing QAS.
  • Ability to follow critical paths/project timelines is essential.
  • High level of reliability and flexibility is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Qualification in food related discipline would be advantageous but not essential.
