The role of Category Manager for clinical services involves supporting the management and value delivery for procurement of goods and services across the clinical category. You will support the Head of Category in developing and maintaining the Category Strategy, Category Plan, and Commercial Strategy, with delegated authority over certain elements of the commercial lifecycle.
Your main duties will include:
- Supporting the development and maintenance of the Clinical Category Strategy to optimize spend aggregation, reduce sourcing activity, and streamline supplier base.
- Developing and maintaining Category plans for key spend areas and transformation programs.
- Contributing to the Commercial Strategy for sourcing projects, including defining sourcing outcomes and contracts.
- Collaborating with end-users to develop Project Initiation Documents (PIDs) with project scope, spend baselines, and linkage to Category Strategy.
- Managing supplier relationships by engaging the market early and fostering collaboration.
- Assisting in developing KPIs for sourcing cycles within Category Procurements.
- Forecasting demand and planning requirements with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Supporting the development of a multi-year Category Strategy and annual pipeline of initiatives.
This role requires an experienced Category specialist familiar with NHS categories, with leadership and team motivation skills. The position is flexible with bi-monthly travel to London, and offers a salary between £58,000 and £65,000.
