Developer/Platform Engineer - (Rocket.chat/Jitsi Meet)

Summer-Browning Associates are currently supporting a consultancy (end client is Central Government) who are seeking a Developer/Platform Engineer on an initial 9 month assignment.\\n\\nService Location: London (3 days London – Hybrid)\\n\\nJob Summary\\n We are seeking a highly skilled Developer / Platform Engineer with existing SC clearance and experience in containerised applications, real-time communications platforms, and infrastructure automation. In this role you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects and contribute to the overall strategic direction of our technology initiatives.\\n\\nDuties\\n\\nThe successful candidate will develop, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable services based on tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Rocket.Chat, Jitsi, and similar open-source technologies. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team building communication and collaboration platforms that may be deployed on-premise or in secure cloud environments.\\n\\nDevelop and deploy containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes.\\nInstall, configure, customise, and maintain Rocket.Chat, Jitsi, and similar platforms.\\nDesign scalable deployment architectures for real-time communication and collaboration tools.\\nAutomate deployment pipelines and CI/CD workflows using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or ArgoCD.\\nBuild custom integrations and plugins for platforms like Rocket.Chat (e.g., bots, webhooks, LDAP, SSO).

\\n\\nExperience\\n\\nStrong experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.\\nProven hands-on experience deploying and customising Rocket.Chat and/or Jitsi Meet.\\nProficiency in scripting and programming (e.g., JavaScript/Node.js, Python, Bash).\\nExperience with Linux system administration, networking, and firewall configuration.\\nFamiliarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or private/on-premise Kubernetes clusters.\\nFamiliarity with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, or similar back-end technologies used by Rocket.Chat and Jitsi.\\nExposure to Zero Trust networking and secure enclave deployments.\\n We invite qualified candidates who are passionate about technology and eager to make an impact through innovative solutions to apply for this exciting opportunity.\\n\\nNB:\\n\\nPlease do not apply if you do not have any experience deploying or customising Rocket.chat and OR Jitsi MeetActive\\nSC will be advantageous as this will be a requirement prior to undertaking the role.
