Direct message the job poster from Ciphr Ciphr has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Engineering Tech Lead to join the team as we grow and develop. Your role will be a hands-on development position and you will work across the entire tech stack, designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications as well as refining user requirements and acceptance criteria into concise technical documentation. Flexibility is key so this role can be based anywhere within the UK if you are happy to attend ad hoc meetings. Location: The role is remote within the UK but will require occasional travel for meetings and customer visits. The daily tasks will include, but not limited to: Provide technical direction and leadership. Design and develop complex applications. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code. Maintain a high coverage of automated and manual tests. Develop and maintain technical documentation. Perform code reviews and provide feedback for the entire development process. Interact with customers where appropriate. Work on both new developments and product maintenance. We would like you to have the following skills: Extensive experience developing applications as a full stack engineer. Knowledge of backend development in Python with Flask, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Postgres or another modern stack. Extensive understanding of software design patterns and principles. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. The ability to work independently and take ownership of work.
