General Foreman

We are working with a leading national civil engineering contractor with an proven reputation in the water sector. The business plays a key role in the successful delivery of major frameworks for multiple water authorities across Wales, Southwest England, and Central England. With a robust pipeline of secured projects as part of the AMP8 programme, the company is strengthening its operational teams to support the continued delivery of high-value, technically demanding infrastructure works and require a General Foreman to join their team.\\n\\nThe General Foreman will take a frontline leadership role in the delivery of clean and wastewater infrastructure projects, typically valued between £5M and £30M.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving site productivity, managing subcontractors, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering high standards of quality across all works. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable and reputable contractor that can offer long-term regional work on some of the most critical water infrastructure schemes in the UK.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities\\n\\n * Day-to-day site supervision of works on water infrastructure projects.\\n\\n * Ensure all activities are carried out safely and in accordance with method statements and risk assessments.\\n\\n * Manage and coordinate site personnel, subcontractors, and resources.\\n\\n * Monitor progress and ensure the timely delivery of project milestones.\\n\\n * Oversee quality control and ensure that workmanship meets design specifications and client expectations.\\n\\n * Assist with planning and sequencing of works in collaboration with site and project managers.\\n\\n * Support the site team in resolving on-site issues and challenges proactively.\\n\\n * Maintain clear and accurate site records, daily diaries, and reporting documentation.\\n\\n * Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and environmental responsibility.\\n\\nRequirements\\n\\n * Proven experience as a General Foreman on civil engineering projects within the water sector (clean and/or wastewater).\\n\\n * Excellent knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation.\\n\\n * SMSTS or SSSTS, First Aid, and other relevant industry certifications
