A leading global freight forwarder is looking to expand its UK sales team. The business is financially secure, agile, and strategically positioned for growth following a recent UK restructure under new senior leadership.

With strong foundations in place, the company is driving forward a targeted expansion of its export business while maintaining a solid import base. As part of this plan, a Freight Business Development Manager is required to join a growing and energetic UK commercial team.

The Role

This is a pure new business sales role, ideal for someone who is hungry, driven, and ready to build a regional sales patch with strong support behind them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Win new business across your assigned region (sector experience optional)
  • Build and manage a personal pipeline from a mix of internally sourced leads and self-generated opportunities
  • Meet 40+ prospects monthly (mix of in-person and virtual)
  • Collaborate with telesales, pricing, and inside sales teams to close deals efficiently
  • Maintain structured meeting follow-ups and hand over accounts after 12 months for long-term management
  • Engage in quarterly sales reviews and light-touch weekly 1:1s with management
