Job Title: Financial Accountant

Location: Milton Keynes (Hybrid)

Salary: £48,000 – £52,000

A well-established business in Milton Keynes is looking for a Financial Accountant to join its central finance team. Reporting into the Financial Controller, this newly created role has come about due to ongoing business growth. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality financial and management information, supporting decision-making across the group, and helping to strengthen internal controls and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, journals, and account reconciliations
• Complete quarterly VAT returns
• Manage intercompany invoicing and reconciliations
• Maintain and update fixed asset registers
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Review BACS payment runs and liaise with banks as required
• Maintain compliance documentation and statutory filingsAssist with process improvements and system efficiency projects
• Provide cover for other finance team members when needed

Key Requirements

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA Finalist (or qualified by experience)
• Strong understanding of management and financial accounting principles
• Excellent Excel skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams
• Organised, detail-focused, and proactive in identifying process improvements
