The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 £ per year.
As a member of the Point of Care Testing (POCT), you will contribute to the day-to-day delivery of the POCT service with specific responsibilities for equipment and reagent management, audits, and supporting service users. You will also be responsible for delivering training to users of POCT equipment and monitoring those delivering training in a cascade capacity. Responsible to and in liaison with the POCT Manager, you will provide a high-quality service that builds on the UKAS ISO standards.
The post holder will be expected to develop and maintain close working relationships with all grades of staff both in the team and in the wider Trust to ensure the effective delivery of the service. Applications are invited from individuals who are confident, motivated, energetic, with some IT experience and excellent communication skills to work in our Point of Care Testing (POCT) team that supports over 170 devices across the Trust. Diagnostic tests are performed on these devices, and the team is responsible for ensuring accurate high-quality results through quality control, training, and support to the clinical teams that use them.
The role will involve working as part of the team to perform a range of tasks that contribute to the smooth running of the POCT devices including:
- Quality Assurance
- Completion of audits
- Usage
- System administration
- Data handling
- Reagent management
- Device maintenance
- Stock management
The successful candidate will be able to develop excellent work relationships with the clinical team and colleagues in the POCT team, work equally well with others as independently, and have good problem-solving skills.
