Are you a hands-on design professional with strong project management skills and experience in design-to-manufacture? We are looking for a Design Project Manager to lead and oversee our design department, ensuring high-quality output, on-time delivery, and alignment with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day planning and oversight of the design department's workload to meet deadlines and budget targets.
- Mentor and guide a team of talented designers, providing feedback, fostering growth, and ensuring high standards of performance.
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Production, and Customer Support teams to deliver cohesive, practical, and effective design solutions.
- Ensure all designs meet company standards and client expectations through rigorous QA processes.
- Utilize 2D and 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks essential) to contribute to design development and review.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, incorporating feedback into design improvements.
- Play a key role in shaping long-term design strategies aligned with market trends and company objectives.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Proficient in 2D & 3D CAD design software - SolidWorks is essential
- Strong background in design for manufacture
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently, delivering on time and to specification
- Practical, hands-on technical skills
- A minimum of NVQ Level 2 in a relevant qualification
- Basic electrical knowledge is highly desirable
