Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Service Manager within the Corporate Parenting Team to work Full Time based in Bury. The salary for this Service Manager job is up to £73,944 per annum.

Responsibilities include:

  • Strategically lead and manage allocated service areas.
  • Significantly contribute to the strategic management of the Children & Young People Department as a member of the Senior Leadership Group Team.
  • Develop and deliver service development plans, ensuring alignment with the broader strategic aims of the department of the council.
  • Support & foster the development of a positive, forward looking, outcome and customer focused department.
  • Ensure all activities within the department are delivered in accordance with legislative regulatory, and other relevant national standards.
  • Investigate and act upon complaints and other feedback in accordance with policy & procedure.
  • Lead the management, development and implementation of new systems, processes, procedures and working practices within the Department.
  • Operationally lead and manage Service Managers and Team Managers across service areas.
  • Undertake appraisal and performance management of reporting service managers.
  • Regularly review the Departmental staffing establishment and structures to ensure alignment with service requirements.
  • Chair formal panels to hear cases brought under disciplinary, capability and grievance procedures.
  • Be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of fostering and adoption services, in accordance with fostering regulations, statutory requirements, guidance and best practice.
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance in relation to fostering and adoption and to act as agency advisor for adoption.
  • Strategically support the development and improvement of fostering and adoption services, in accordance with fostering regulations, statutory requirements, guidance and best practice.
  • Ensure high quality care is provided to children and young people in care via fostering, family and friends carers and supported lodging hosts.
  • Develop responsive and customer focussed services, ensuring the involvement of foster carers, family, and friend carers, supported lodgings hosts and SGO carers in the design of service offers.

Requirements of this Service Manager job:

  • A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
  • Evidence of continued professional, managerial, and personal development acquired through degree/diploma, specialist training, management qualifications or equivalent.
