Role Overview: At Asda, our priority is to deliver high-quality patient care, focusing on the health and wellbeing of our customers. Due to our extended service contracts with the NHS, we are committed to providing a wide range of care for the treatment and monitoring of minor eye conditions. Your typical day will involve screening patients, coaching and training the wider team, and maintaining standards in the department. We are passionate about supporting our Optometrists with comprehensive training and development opportunities, including a fantastic CPD program and protected time for further accreditations funded by Asda. Our goal is to develop and support you to reach your full potential, with full support from in-store, regional, and head office teams for clinical and service-related queries.

About You: You will use your clinical skills and passion to create a memorable customer experience, working closely with an Optical Manager (qualified Dispensing Optician). You will support coaching, training, and developing new patient services to ensure we meet our customers' needs with current and accessible services. You will be:

  • A fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC
  • Registered performer with your NHS area team or health board
  • MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months of joining, funded and supported by us)
  • On track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD
  • Passionate about delivering a memorable customer experience
  • Enthusiastic about developing new patient services and shaping the department's culture
