We’re working with a well-established and growing IT services provider based in Greater Manchester who are looking for a hands-on IT Manager to lead a technical team and play a key role in delivering exceptional service to clients. This is a client-facing role, so we’re looking for someone who not only has strong technical expertise and leadership skills but also the confidence and communication ability to engage with customers at all levels.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading and developing a team of junior and senior technicians, providing mentorship, direction, and performance oversight
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients: understanding their needs, managing expectations, and ensuring delivery is on point
  • Managing day-to-day operations and planning workloads across the team
  • Taking ownership of technical projects, from design and execution through to reporting and client communication
  • Providing high-level (3rd line) support across hardware, software, network, server, cloud, VoIP, mobile, and MDM platforms
  • Overseeing infrastructure from initial design and deployment to administration and ongoing support
  • Driving internal improvements across processes, documentation, and change management
  • Shaping the future of the service delivery function, including team growth and service refinement

What we’re looking for:

  • A strong technical background across infrastructure, networks, and cloud solutions
  • Experience in a client-facing or customer-focused environment & able to build trust and explain technical solutions clearly
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills: both internally and externally
  • A detail-oriented, process-driven mindset with a passion for delivering high-quality service
  • Strong leadership qualities, someone who can bring the best out of their team
  • Great time management and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A proactive approach to learning and staying up-to-date with new technologies
  • Commercial awareness, understands how IT supports wider business goals

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys the mix of hands-on technical work, team leadership, and building strong client relationships. You'll be instrumental in shaping how services are delivered and how the business grows moving forward.
