Join the Close Brothers Vehicle Hire Team where you will be working within the credit desk, responsible for carrying out collection activity on a designated ledger of accounts in order to achieve maximum cash collection and debt reduction in line with targets set by the management team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collection of aged debt by means of telephone customer contact, keeping aged debt and general bad debt provisions within KPIs.
- Assisting the Credit Control & Billing Manager with overall cash collection and ensure targets are achieved.
- Logging and resolving customer invoice queries in a timely manner, along with managing any credit notes required.
- Updating the system with notes relating to all communications with customers.
- Allocation of cash within the daily banking, ensuring remittances are received & allocated accurately.
- Keeping unallocated cash to a minimum.
- Monitor and escalate any concerns regarding customers trading history to the appropriate senior manager.
- Control and support the credit control team with legal collections and any recovery of assets / debt that may occur.
- Attend and participate in regular credit control / sales meetings.
- Liaise and support billing with any customer issues that may arise.
- Support the disposal manager and collect debt with regards to vehicle purchases.
- Controlling the Direct Debit process, ensuring these are set up and applied in a timely & accurate manner.
- Provide support to any daily/ monthly & yearly Sales ledger tasks where required.
- Provide cover for any duties that are deemed urgent within the finance team.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:
- Credit control experience.
- An ability to follow policy and procedures.
- A flexible approach to work.
- Good experience with IT (Microsoft Office).
- Relevant GCSEs grade pass or above.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:
- Have underwriting / credit risk experience.
- Have experience of using Microsoft packages.
- Have previous experience working for a Bank / Vehicle rental company.
- Are AAT part / qualified or equivalent NVQ level 2 or above.
- Have any Credit / Debt management qualifications.
