You will need to be an experienced Buyer with a proven track record of working well under pressure, leading and inspiring your team, and executing ambitious strategies each season. This role offers the opportunity to explore your love for product within a creative and collaborative environment.
As The Buyer:
- Develop Buyers Admin Assistants, Assistant Buyers, or Junior Buyers, nurturing them to achieve promotions and career milestones.
- Review and improve ways of working to enhance efficiencies.
- Range building is critical.
- Onboard new suppliers and develop supplier strategies.
- Conduct supplier visits.
- Have a multi-product background.
Responsibilities Include:
- Create lessons learned presentations for your Head of Department and Directors.
- Communicate key indicators and develop strategic points based on these insights with junior team members.
- Challenge and hold your team accountable for managing their categories.
- Motivate and support your team daily.
- Review and establish clear pricing architectures with merchandisers.
- Plan buys with your Merchandiser.
- Build well-balanced ranges, identify gaps, and capitalize on new opportunities.
- Encourage reaction to sales trends and introduce new product to drive revenue.
- Review colour, prints, and shapes, balancing best sellers with newness.
- Experience with trading from the Far East and closer to home is essential.
- Maintain and onboard supplier relationships, sourcing fabrics and trims, including sustainable options.
- Implement test and trial methods to enhance profit and product innovation.
- Achieve trading performance targets at margin and cash sales levels.
- Manage OTB and seasonal budgets collaboratively with your merchandiser.
- Analyze data to inform commercial decisions.
- Manage Monday Trade reports and department actions.
- Oversee critical path and delivery schedules for the team.
- Address stock issues, delays, and cancellations proactively.
- Prepare for product launches and manage campaign timelines.
- Collaborate with Merchandiser on forecasting and volume planning.
- Conduct cross-costing projects to protect margins.
- Attend trend and design meetings with stakeholders.
