Our client, a forward thinking and very exciting company is seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This role will be pivotal in developing and implementing cutting-edge electrical architectures for high-performance vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development of electrical distribution systems including component selection, HV/LV harnesses, interconnections, control panels, cabling, and support structures
- Designing Electrical Architectures, Schematics, Wiring Harness Drawings, System Overviews, and BOMs
- Participating in engineering design reviews and advising on best practices
- Ensuring cohesive integration of all design aspects between engineering teams and related departments
- Collaborating with electrical manufacturers and distributors as needed
- Supporting the creation of manufacturing drawings and instructions
- Developing grounding strategies, equipotential bonding, lightning protection systems, and galvanic protection systems
- Performing electrical load calculations and flow analysis
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field such as Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
- Experience in an electrical engineering role or similar position
- Significant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education
- Experience working with LV DC (24V), HV DC (>600V), 230VAC and 400VAC Electrical Systems
- Knowledge of Electrical CAD packages (e.g., Zuken E3, EPlan) and AutoCAD (2D) or Catia (3D)
- Experience with Electric, Hydrogen, and/or Hybrid Drivelines
- Ability to diagnose electrical systems and perform fault finding
- Familiarity with electrical safety standards and regulations
