We are working exclusively with Clermont Trust, a prestigious independent fiduciary and family office services provider, in search of a Junior Relationship Manager to work directly with their Group Managing Director. This is a unique opportunity to step into an advisory-focused, client-facing position with direct exposure to ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) international clients. Unlike traditional trust administration roles, this position combines wealth management, tax, and legal advisory, with the expectation that the successful candidate will develop deep client relationships while also contributing to new business growth.
The Role: A Steep Learning Curve with High Rewards
As Junior Relationship Manager, you will be the No.2 to the Group MD, acting as the right-hand person and supporting key client relationships. You will gain exposure to a diverse, international client base ranging from South African entrepreneurs to Middle Eastern royalty and play a pivotal role in managing and expanding relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Shadowing the Group MD for the first 6-12 months, learning the 'Clermont way' and experiencing the full client cycle.
- Attending high-level client meetings, taking notes, and executing follow-up actions.
- Eventually acting as a primary client contact, delivering tailored advice on fiduciary structures, financial strategies, and wealth planning.
- Managing fee negotiations and disputes, ensuring transparent and fair client relationships.
- Overseeing the administration of complex client structures, collaborating with internal trust teams.
- Supporting business development and, over time, taking ownership of winning and onboarding new clients.
Travel: Expected (Approx. 2x Gulf, 1x North America, 1x South Africa per year). This is a billable role, and within reason, RMs are expected to be available when their clients need them.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Professional qualifications in Finance, Law, or Wealth Planning.
- High EQ, resilience, and adaptability, able to switch between vastly different client personalities and expectations.
- A commercial mindset, understanding the financial and strategic importance of a billable RM role.
- Staying power - this is a long-term opportunity with no artificial ceiling on growth.
- A desire for freedom and autonomy - Clermont is not a rigid, bureaucratic environment.
Advantages in the role:
- Work directly with industry leaders gaining a fast-track education in high-end relationship management.
- Long-term career upside - no ceiling on progression, with opportunities to build and manage your own portfolio.
- High levels of autonomy - once established, you will have the freedom to work independently and shape your role.
- An industry-leading portfolio size, providing exposure to a breadth of client relationships few RMs experience elsewhere.
- A chance to redefine the role of an RM - moving beyond administration into strategic advisory and business growth.
If you are ambitious, commercially minded, and ready for a high-expectation, high-reward role, we want to hear from you.
