It’s an exciting time to join Simply Business’ People Team as we embark on our journey to globalize the way we work to enable better outcomes for our employees. We are seeking a Global Head of People Operations to lead our newly combined global People Ops teams, providing broad HR solutions and services to our 1,000+ employees in the UK, US, and Poland. Reporting to the Global Chief People Officer and a member of the Global People Leadership Team, this pivotal role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in optimizing People Operations functions and a passion for leveraging data and technology to transform service delivery, process documentation, and knowledge management. This leader will focus on creating a unified employee experience, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning and Implementation: Develop and execute a strategic plan to unify location-based teams and drive a cohesive employee experience.
- Enhancement of Self Service Capabilities: Use technology, data, and AI/ML to evolve our employee and manager self-service platforms.
- Change Management: Lead initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies and processes.
- Team Leadership: Manage and develop the HR Operations team to build a high-performing group delivering exceptional service.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor KPIs to measure HR service effectiveness and identify improvement areas.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR strategies with business goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of ongoing enhancement, using feedback to optimize HR services.
- Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure HR policies and operations meet legal standards and industry best practices.
- Employee Relations: Oversee resolution of employee relations issues in partnership with the People Partnering team.
- Budget Management: Manage the HR operations budget effectively.
- Associate Experience: Lead initiatives to improve the overall employee experience and position Simply Business as an employer of choice.
- HR Technology: Oversee the HR tech stack, driving automation and data integrity, and develop automated solutions.
- Governance and Audit: Drive governance, policy development, and foster an audit culture.
Experience and Professional Qualifications
- At least 10 years of progressive HR operations or HR technology experience, with focus on strategy, data analysis, and process improvement.
- Strong knowledge of UK and US labor laws and regulations.
- Experience establishing new HR processes and implementing digital HR solutions.
- Proven change management skills, with a track record of leading large-scale organizational changes.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building abilities, with experience managing dispersed teams globally.
- Ability to handle complex employee relations, managing risks pragmatically.
- Strong business acumen, excellent communication, and influencing skills.
- Proficiency with Ceridian Dayforce and Workday preferred.
- Strategic thinker, able to synthesize complex data and topics.
- Collaborative with strong relationship-building skills across geographies.
- Ethical, maintains confidentiality, and demonstrates sound professional judgment.
