Product Manager – AI as a Medical Device
Skin Analytics is an award-winning, health tech company that works with dermatology teams to deploy world-leading skin cancer pathways using AI as a medical device, DERM. Following our recent funding and regulatory milestones, we are scaling internationally to advance AI in healthcare and dermatology.
DERM is deployed at more than 25 NHS organisations and is the only AI as a medical device approved to make clinical decisions autonomously in the cancer space, with NICE recognition for use across the NHS. We collaborate with major health insurers to reach patients in their homes. We are a team focused on building a future where no one dies from skin cancer.
The role
We are looking to hire an entrepreneurial Product Manager who thrives in ambiguity and can build new products from scratch. You should have experience building Medical Devices with an AI or innovative software element and be strong at stakeholder engagement and management (incl. AI, Regulatory, Clinical & Design).
Responsibilities
- Product discovery: define and validate product assumptions within the regulatory landscape
- Ensure the product is valuable, viable, usable and feasible
- Collaborate with AI, Clinical and Regulatory teams to shape an innovative yet realistic roadmap
- Work with Engineering and Design teams to create intuitive solutions with human factors in mind
- Set clear milestones and guide the team through international regulatory submissions from a product perspective
- Hold stakeholders accountable for results
- General data analytics to inform product decisions
Requirements
- End-to-end experience building, delivering and maintaining medical devices with an innovative software element
- Deep knowledge of how AI products are built; not required to be an ML Scientist but understands dependencies with product development
- Strong experience delivering front-end, intuitive products in collaboration with designers
- Proven experience in medical devices, including familiarity with ISO 14971
- Proven experience holding delivery teams accountable
- Experience with usability engineering and human factors studies is desirable
- Ability to work at pace and adapt processes, recognizing that medical devices may use more structured development approaches
