DP World are currently recruiting for a Security Manager - Europe (North Cluster) to support management of operational Security activities within the Region (UK/IRL/Nordics) and lead on improvement of security processes including the establishment of effective intelligence management. You will oversee operations throughout the UK/IRL and Nordics and be required to travel extensively so flexibility in this area is key. This is a leadership role, focusing on the improvement and enhancement of our security provision for sites in various locations so expertise in delivery of such security projects would be required.
About the role:
- Lead operational Security activities and enhancements across a multisite portfolio to ensure effective control of risk, compliance, stakeholder alignment and successful delivery within the cluster including UK/Ireland and Nordics.
- Support implementation of the regions Security strategy and achievement of company resilience.
- Identify and manage operational Security risks escalating to Senior Manager, EUR Security Operations Director and EUR Security & Operational Risk Senior Director, as required.
- Support definition, implementation and maintenance of regional operational Security controls.
- Act as a point of escalation and guidance for operational security matters especially for BUs.
- Provide reports, metrics and insights to help decision making and effective risk management.
- Collaborate with Group functions especially Security, Fraud and Insurance and Security Technical Specialists for operational change control.
- Conduct operational checks including inspections and audits that hold Operational Management, Site Management and vendors accountable for maintaining Security expectations and complying with controls.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, third parties and other key external stakeholders through active engagement, to benefit from intelligence and lessons learned.
- Support procurement processes and provide SME advice for security related projects.
- Maintain awareness of technologies and industry best practices to support effective operational Security.
- Support colleague enhancement programmes to develop, coach and mentor site and BU security teams and management on operational Security and control of risk.
- Support operational teams on matters relating to operational Security including 3rd party management, as well as management of security incidents e.g. creating alerts and notifications, and linking enforcement, DPW Operations and insurance, plus vendors.
- Oversee and/or conduct incident investigations for significant losses and act as SME for investigations done by others.
- Support operations with local incident response through provision of advice, escalating as required.
- Full line management responsibility of direct reports (4) including but not limited to: recruitment, effective performance and talent management extending to development programmes to multi-skill the team.
- Support the EUR Security and Operational Risk Senior Director and EUR Security Operations Director in the overall Security management of the Europe Region.
- Conduct crime reduction surveys and identify recommendations for designing out crime.
- Complete guard force performance analysis to ensure effective risk control.
- Develop guard force scope of work for tender processes and collaborate with procurement during guard force replacements.
- Partner with the Senior Manager, Director and Senior Director of operational security in defining and reviewing the progress of the 5 year strategy.
- Harvest intelligence and produce intelligence reports.
Your Key Skills:
- TAPA ISO & ISPS (PFSO) - preferred.
- Vetting - able to achieve a standard of CTC (Counter Terrorism Clearance) or other relevant check.
- At least 5 years Security management/leadership of Security teams in multisite businesses (Logistics/FMCG etc).
- Strong project delivery background in implementing or improving new security standards/processes.
- Preferred military, law enforcement or intelligence experience.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to interact with personnel at all levels internally and externally.
- Experience with planning and leading audits and risk assessments, investigations, assignment/site instructions, standard operating procedures and customer standards.
- Strong technical Security understanding.
- Experience with Intelligence databases and intelligence harvesting.
- Knowledge of crime reduction/designing out crime techniques.
- Excellent planning skills to ensure effective transfer of new projects into BAU team support.
