Your Role
As a Consultant within Capgemini Engineering, you will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the country’s leading experts in the nuclear sector, contributing to some of the most complex and high-profile client engagements. - Design and develop nuclear power plant systems and components through technical readiness and regulatory assessment programmes
- Conduct analyses to optimise designs and ensure compliance with nuclear safety and regulatory requirements
- Prepare technical documentation and presentations for client stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- Support business development through maintaining an awareness of client resource requirements
- Facilitate cross-functional team collaboration and liaise with specialists and discipline leads
- Manage requirements and product definition data using systems engineering toolsets
What do you need?
Essential:
- 2 -3 years' experience in the nuclear sector
- Understanding of nuclear physics, nuclear safety, and radiation protection
- Familiarity with nuclear regulatory frameworks (e.g. ONR regulations)
- Experience of working in a multi-discipline engineering context (mechanical, electrical, systems, safety, human factors, security)
Desirable:
- Master's degree or higher in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 5 years' experience in the nuclear sector, with at least 3 years focusing on design development and/or analysis
- Knowledge and experience of nuclear power plant systems, advanced reactor designs (e.g., SMRs, Gen IV reactors), and waste management
- Knowledge and experience of mechanical, structural or I&C applications in the nuclear sector
- Knowledge and experience of IBM Rational DOORS, Capella, Siemens Teamcenter, AutoCAD, MS Office
- Chartered or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body
