The Staff Nurse (RMN / RNLD) is a vital member of the Multi-Disciplinary team, promoting the best interests of clients and carers, ensuring effective nursing care, maintaining a safe environment, and exercising professional accountability within the scope of practice.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver prescribed care within an agreed framework.
- Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care in collaboration with patients and their families, respecting patient choices and acting as the named nurse.
- Observe and engage with patients to assess needs and evaluate progress.
- Monitor and review care plans, responding to changes in patient conditions.
- Handle suggestions and complaints proactively and effectively.
- Contribute to team-based patient care with all multidisciplinary team members.
- Participate in clinical and non-clinical meetings.
- Prioritize nursing duties, delegate appropriately, and work as nurse in charge when required.
- Ensure a safe environment and maintain professional development through ongoing learning and revalidation.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with patients, colleagues, and visitors.
- Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practice regularly.
- Undertake the role of Preceptor for newly qualified staff.
