The Staff Nurse (RMN / RNLD) is a vital member of the Multi-Disciplinary team, promoting the best interests of clients and carers, ensuring effective nursing care, maintaining a safe environment, and exercising professional accountability within the scope of practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver prescribed care within an agreed framework.
  • Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care in collaboration with patients and their families, respecting patient choices and acting as the named nurse.
  • Observe and engage with patients to assess needs and evaluate progress.
  • Monitor and review care plans, responding to changes in patient conditions.
  • Handle suggestions and complaints proactively and effectively.
  • Contribute to team-based patient care with all multidisciplinary team members.
  • Participate in clinical and non-clinical meetings.
  • Prioritize nursing duties, delegate appropriately, and work as nurse in charge when required.
  • Ensure a safe environment and maintain professional development through ongoing learning and revalidation.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with patients, colleagues, and visitors.
  • Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practice regularly.
  • Undertake the role of Preceptor for newly qualified staff.
  • Work in accordance with safeguarding policies, the Mental Health Act, Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberty Standards.
  • Adhere to Medicines Management policies, Priory Group policies, and NMC Code.
