Roswell IT are on the lookout for a passionate and tech-savvy IT Support Apprentice to join their dynamic team. Based in East Kilbride, they have an established track record of investing in junior talent having supported 14 learners since 2015! Working as an IT Apprentice for Roswell IT has been a really good experience for me learning all of their systems, developing new skills and supporting customers. This apprenticeship opportunity has opened my mind about the IT world and everyone has been nice and welcoming!

Whats involved

As the IT Support Apprentice, you will be completing an IT Support Professional SCQF Level 8 qualification. You will be assigned a dedicated Skills Coach to support you through an 18-month duration, then completing further qualifications with Roswell to finish your 24-month long apprenticeship. You will be working within a team of IT Support Engineers to work with a range of clients to support their IT requirements remotely and on clients' sites. This is a fantastic opportunity to start a rewarding career in IT!

Responsibilities:

  • Answering customer calls to understand their IT issues
  • Talking through actions either face-to-face or over the phone to help resolve tech issues and providing support
  • Working towards being able to troubleshoot system and network problems
  • Setting up new users' accounts, password resets, application testing and creating reports
  • Building and setting up new hardware such as computers, laptops and telephone systems
  • Installing/configuring computer hardware and operating systems

  • Someone who can chat about technology in simple terms
  • Problem solver and logical thinker

Salary: £21,000 per annum.

Working hours: 8:30am - 5pm.

  • 20 days accrued holiday plus statutory per year

Future prospects:

You will have the opportunity to complete Microsoft certifications after successfully completing your apprenticeship. You will also have the opportunity to become a permanent member of the team and move into more senior roles.

Throughout your learning journey, you are fully supported by your dedicated QA skills coach and your mentor at work. They ensure you settle in, help you develop all the skills you need to be successful in your job role and pass your assessments, and can provide one-to-one support. Starting with insights into your current potential, they plan your growth in a programmatic way, close skills gaps with immersive training and ensure what you learn is applicable to what you do. They talk you through the specifics on the qualifications you gain and how they align in particular to your day-to-day role. On completion, as well as the valuable work experience you have gained, you get a nationally recognised qualification at SCQF Level 8.
