Position Details
- Location: Liverpool, Central Liverpool, Local Authority
- Working Arrangement: Hybrid, Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00 (35 Hours/week)
- Contract: 1 Month (Potential extension)
- Salary: £16ph Umbrella
Role Overview
Provide professional financial support to ensure effective financial management, planning, monitoring, and reporting in line with statutory requirements and council policies. Contribute to delivering high-quality financial advice and services to support efficient, value-for-money services.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist in providing regular budgetary control information and advice to budget holders under supervision.
- Verify and distribute payroll information for business unit managers.
- Maintain financial information systems, including input and monitoring of budget virements, accountancy journals, suspense accounts, and new accounting codes.
- Assist with completing financial returns and grant claims accurately and on time for audits and funding bodies.
- Deputise for other finance team members as needed.
- Be aware of the City Council's personnel policies and procedures relevant to the Finance Team.
Key Requirements
- Knowledge of financial software, enquiry packages, and corporate accounting systems.
- Experience working accurately within procedures and deadlines in a financial environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and familiarity with accounting software.
- Ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies efficiently.
