Our engineering client in Harwich, Essex are currently recruiting for a welder / fabricator after winning a large contract!

Overview of the role: You will be required to undertake a variety of work including repairs and maintenance of equipment and site works. Starting salary would be between Β£14 - Β£18 per hour, depending on experience. This will be a permanent position subject to probation.

Hours of work: 08:00-16:30, Monday to Friday with all overtime paid at 1.5x!

Duties include:

  • MIG & MMA welding
  • Able to weld Mild steel, thicknesses ranging from 3mm - 15mm
  • Use of fabrication machinery within the workshop
  • Read & work from engineering drawings independently
  • Site work as required around the Essex location (45 minutes from Harwich Maximum)
  • Maintenance, welding/fabrication & repair works
  • On-site (60%) & in the workshop (40%) of the time

Candidate requirements:

  • NVQ, Diploma or Apprenticeship in Welding/Fabrication
  • Able to read from technical drawings
  • MMA & MIG Welding Experience
  • Clean Driving Licence
  • It is beneficial if you have previously worked out on site with knowledge of agricultural repairs
