- Carry out full lifecycle validation of trades across futures, forwards, and swaps.
- Ensure accurate risk decomposition for formula-based pricing models, including correct equivalence for blended pricing structures.
- Develop and test files for downstream integration to support Market Risk teams with implementation and validation.
- Validate trade lifecycle processes to ensure precise risk and valuation assessments.
- Apply and interpret future-equivalent views, fixing mechanisms, and pricing risks appropriately.
- Ensure risk decomposition aligns with sound financial modelling practices (e.g. proper exposure allocation for blended pricing).
- Actively challenge existing procedures, identify and escalate issues, and contribute expertise to enhance system functionality and risk processes.
Key Requirements:
- Strong understanding of both physical and financial commodity trading.
- Asset Classes: Emissions, LNG, EU Gas, US Gas, Crude, Distillates, Base Metals, Precious Metals.
- Physical Trading: Experience with storage, pipelines, refining, vessels, and freight (including crude, distillates, LNG).
- Financial Instruments: Proficiency in futures, swaps, forwards, float/float and fixed/float structures.
- In-depth knowledge of contracts, benchmarks, pricing mechanisms, and trading workflows.
- Previous experience in ETRM migrations, ideally involving transition from a legacy platform to Aspect.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with Product Control, IT, and ETRM stakeholders to drive system optimisation.
This is a hybrid role 2/3 days into the London office with a salary up to £120k and competitive wider benefits.
