We are seeking a highly experienced Azure Data & Infrastructure Architect to deliver a complex data platform transformation for a major public sector organisation. The role is working through a globally recognised Tier One Consultancy and requires 2 days per week on site in Coventry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & implement secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on Azure
- Build data platforms using Databricks, Fabric, ADLS, Delta Lake, CosmosDB
- Architect solutions for real-time ingestion from sources like SCADA, SAP PM, Oracle
- Implement secure networking (VNETs, ExpressRoute, private endpoints)
- Drive data governance using Purview, Collibra, Unity Catalog
- Lead DR, HA, threat modeling, and security audits
- Develop IaC using Terraform, Bicep, ARM; automate with CI/CD pipelines
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, ISO 27001
Core Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years in cloud infrastructure and data architecture
- Deep expertise in Azure, Databricks, Synapse, Fabric
- Strong knowledge of networking, IAM, RBAC, Zero Trust
- Proficient in big data, ETL/ELT, and streaming tech (Kafka, Event Hubs)
- Experience with monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Datadog)
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience in utilities or real-time IoT data is highly desirable
