Salary: Up to 38,000

The ideal candidate will need out-of-gauge, break bulk and project cargo experience within sea freight or shipping industry. A background working with a shipping agency, shipping line or vessel operation would be the perfect candidate, where you will be responsible for coordinating end-to-end shipments and overseeing the transportation of goods via marine vessels.

Your Key Responsibilities As An Ocean Freight Coordinator:

  • Dealing with OOG, Breakbulk/Project Cargo shipments, planning and logistics.
  • End-to-end Export operations.
  • Cross-trade experience is highly desirable.
  • Quotations, negotiating, pricing.
  • Manage all financial aspects of shipments, including costings, booking and coordination of yacht transportation (shipping, cradling, insurance, wrapping, customs, and surveying).
  • Vessel charter operations (liaising with ship owners, shipbrokers, internal and overseas P&M offices, port agents).
  • Shipping documentation (eg Bills of Lading, cargo manifest, Mate receipt, LOI).
  • Demurrage calculations (based on our voyage charter party).
  • Liaise with the client to gain technical details.
  • Send communications to clients and keep updated regularly.
  • Update clients with load/discharge sequences even when out of hours.
  • Monitor cost accuracy from subcontractors/check port costs, and try to maximise our profit by reducing our costs.
  • Work to resolve operational issues when required.
  • Communicate operational matters with loadmaster teams.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and trade compliance laws.
