The client is a leading provider of sustainable supply chain solutions for industry across the globe. They are looking to hire a Logistics & Planning Manager to lead and coach the UK/IRE logistics team in working proactively towards maximizing service levels, customer satisfaction, and achieving departmental and personal objectives. The team includes one supervisor and four planners.

The role is responsible for continuous analysis and optimization of operational parameters & costs, supporting logistical improvement projects, and ensuring the delivery of daily departmental tasks. It also involves reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) for both upstream and downstream processes.

Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions):

  • Manage Transport Team to fulfill up to 1,800 orders monthly.
  • Track service levels and daily reports.
  • Manage the Transport team to ensure up to 600 transfers weekly back to Tosca sites, averaging 150 transfers per week.
  • Monitor transport profit and costs.
  • Handle escalations for Customer NCRs or queries.
  • Support Transport Planners daily.
  • Act as escalation point for Hauliers and third-party sites.
  • Prepare monthly reports.
  • Liaise daily with Site Managers on stock processing priorities.
  • Conduct weekly Operations calls with PL Sites.
  • Hold weekly one-on-one meetings with direct reports.
  • Coordinate with Third Party sites.
  • Add haulage pricing to Pool It platform.
  • Track and manage transport costs against budget.
  • Pursue projects and cost efficiencies.
  • Assist with product trials, ensuring timely and budget-compliant deliveries.
  • Expand the network of hauliers for cost efficiency.
  • Visit hauliers as required.
  • Coordinate with finance on transport invoice queries.
  • Add new manufacturers and products to Pool It.
  • Raise orders on the factory based on 20-week coverage.
  • Lead and coach Service Centre Managers and third-party operations, fostering performance, culture, and initiatives.
  • Represent the region in Supply Chain & Operations discussions.
  • Translate business strategies into operational goals with measurable metrics.
  • Manage budgets, expenses, and operational costs.
  • Promote safety culture within the Service Centres, conduct safety inspections, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain a safe and injury-free work environment.
  • Support Food Safety Management System and ensure compliance with food safety hazards and ISO practices.
  • Identify operational synergies and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
