Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, following facility policies, procedures, protocols, and in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and Delaware Board of Nursing rules. The RN functions at the top of their license in leadership, delegation, patient education, triage, precepting, mentorship, and role modeling. They act as a liaison between clinical staff and leadership to develop policies that promote safety and efficient workflows.
Responsibilities
- Triages patients and implements nursing interventions promptly using clinical judgment.
- Delegates care elements to appropriate healthcare workers, complying with regulations.
- Serves as a preceptor and mentor, completing required education and competencies timely.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates care plans, providing initial education to patients and families.
- Administers medications per policy (IV push medications only by RNs).
- Assesses, analyzes, and documents patient data to identify diagnoses and outcomes.
- Acts as a liaison to develop policies that ensure safety and workflow efficiency.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Uses resources to provide safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care.
- Advocates for clients.
- Supports team members and accepts additional duties, working across locations and shifts as needed.

Compensation
