MJ Quinn Energy and Critical Infrastructure division is a multi-disciplined integrated service provider headquartered in Liverpool. Specialising in the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems, our expertise includes energy-efficient solutions like LED lighting, adiabatic and CRAC cooling units, air source heating, solar PV systems, and battery storage.

We are looking for someone from an electrical or renewable engineering background to cost and design a variety of standard and complex commercial projects. Working closely with the existing design team, project managers, and clients, the candidate will be able to deliver design and estimation from concept to order placement. It is essential we have someone with good technical knowledge on commercial renewable design and good communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide system designs, costing estimates, and a bill of materials for a range of solar PV, EV, and battery storage projects using industry software such as PV Sol, Solaredge, and AutoCAD.
  • Work directly with the project team to ensure all estimates are designed and costed in line with product specifications and following an effective handover process to enable project delivery.
  • Produce accurate commercial quotations using the platform Trimble, including technical proposals based on tender requests.
  • Work on a wide range of projects from 50kW – 50MW including rooftop and ground mount solar including BESS, liaising with all DNOs, completing G99/G100 applications.

Skills Qualification Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Commercial Scale Solar PV is essential – a good working knowledge of BESS is preferred.
  • Knowledge of various commercial roofing types and mounting systems.
  • Experience using software such as PV Sol, AutoCAD, etc.
  • Experience in estimating, specifying, and technically supporting renewable energy technology products.
  • Electrical knowledge and experience is essential.
