An insurance company is seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to support their Finance team at their offices in Perth. This is a temporary position to start ASAP (dependent on vetting checks) for an initial 12-month period and will pay £20.00 per hour PAYE. The role is initially office-based and will move to hybrid once trained.

The Assistant Accountant will maintain accurate and appropriate records of financial transactions through daily banking and transaction reporting, recording all expense payments and assisting with the expense reporting through the production of monthly and quarterly cashflows, reconciliations, and reports. They will also support the effective and efficient running of 4 pension schemes and a death in service scheme.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar accounting role.
  • Degree or equivalent in Finance/Business/Accountancy or be qualified by experience.
  • Proficient IT user to include MS Office packages, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in using finance systems.
  • Able to use own initiative to solve problems through their technical knowledge and experience.
  • Good interpersonal skills including the ability to develop strong working relationships and collaboration with other team members and key contacts.
