Job Description

We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for an HR Advisor to join our team on a maternity cover basis for 9-months. Key Responsibilities:

The following responsibilities relate to the HR Advisor's client areas – Manufacturing and Commercial UK and Ireland:

  • Responsible for all employee relations activity including, absence management, disciplinary, investigations and covering all elements of the employee lifecycle including performance management and talent development
  • Oversee and ensure a quality onboarding and offboarding process is completed for all new joiners and leavers; coach managers on their role in the process and seeking feedback about the candidate experience
  • Providing advice and playing a major role in work reviews and change processes
  • Identifying development needs and coaching/upskilling/training managers accordingly
  • Supporting managers with updating job descriptions ready for job mapping
  • Analyse HR metrics and data to inform decision-making and identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Being the first point of contact for all HR-related queries
  • Support the implementation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with company values and legal requirements
  • Supporting engagement activity including the engagement group at the Manufacturing site as the HR representative
  • Leading Union activity and building a robust relationship with Union reps
  • HR Projects – To lead and support the HR Team with the delivery of HR and change projects

Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Responsible for maintaining the Recruiter Preferred Supplier List (PSL) for EMEA; effective management of recruitment agencies, building positive partnerships to ensure we get best candidates, in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • The internal recruitment subject matter expert – supporting and coaching and line managers to deliver a positive candidate experience for both successful and unsuccessful applicants; positioning CMC as an employer of choice.
  • Continuously review and improve existing recruitment, selection, and onboarding standards.
  • Data Protection – To ensure all aspects of the recruitment, People HR and onboarding process comply with the Data Protection Policy and GDPR requirements.

Engagement:

  • Coordinating the communication, engagement, and well-being agenda, ensuring the promotion of a healthy, engaged and retained workforce
  • Support the coordination, promotion, launch, collation, and analysis of the annual employee engagement survey
  • Support and execute the achievement of all planned employee engagement activities
  • Ensure all communication tools (social media, noticeboards etc.) are used regularly and kept up to date with relevant employee engagement information
  • Carry out benchmark analysis to support the creation of the business’s engagement and communication strategy as directed by the HR Director.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • An HR background within this role is essential, with up-to-date employment law knowledge and legislation of HR practices
  • Level 5 CIPD qualifications or equivalent
  • Excellent working knowledge and awareness of employment relations legislation and regulation relevant to the region(s)
  • Excellent working knowledge of confidentiality, data protection and security standards and expectations
  • Evidence of continual professional development
  • Commercially astute
  • Displays a confident and professional manner
  • Experience and willingness to train and upskill self and others
