When: In the last two weeks of March, there are 2 or 3 places available for 16–18-year-old BTEC/A Level students preferably doing a tourism-related subject at a school or college in the Gloucestershire area. The placement lasts for one week. In the last two weeks of June, there are 2 or 3 places available for Year 11 students from a local school in the Gloucestershire area. The placement lasts for one week. Between the months of July – September, there is a place available for an undergraduate or recently graduated young person, for a work experience placement of up to a maximum of 10 weeks. What can I expect from the experience: Successful candidates will spend time with each department of Steppes Travel to gain insight into the working practices of a tour operator. We will ask you to use the knowledge acquired to complete a project requiring a written piece of work at the end of the experience. This may be a competitor analysis, a project based on creating a mock tour operator, or a project requiring the candidate to create their perfect sustainable holiday.
