The development of the Advisory capability has and continues to follow a very deliberate path. The aim is to create an integrated capability offering to clients, enabling the business to dramatically improve relationships with existing and new clients. They achieve this, for example by improving client information for decision making based on deeper insights, understanding how executives think, act, influence and lead; helping clients work through the contextual challenges that can often surround a senior search, creating more lasting and fruitful partnerships over time. The Advisory team and capability complements and adds to the search services.

They are seeking a commercially oriented Business Psychologist with the ambition to help grow the brand and reputation. They can offer an exciting opportunity to be central to shaping how this side of the business grows and develops. You will work alongside an experienced team of consultant business psychologists and search professionals who will help you to develop the skills and confidence to work increasingly independently, as part of the team and directly with clients.

Providing advisory expertise to clients includes:

  • Collaborating with and being part of the client facing team alongside Search Directors and Consultants
  • Operating as part of a wider advisory team, drawn from an associate pool of external experienced consultants
  • Covering all advisory service lines:
  • Profiling senior hires
  • Executive coaching for individuals and teams
  • Facilitating team events e.g. functional team build, high stakes team effectiveness, board cohesion
  • Creating succession plans and strategies based on sound data
  • Designing and delivering leadership development processes

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Helping to generate content for and assemble advisory project pitches
  • Managing project administration, logistics and timelines
  • Overseeing Hogan psychometric testing and Cognitive Processing profile testing
  • Interpreting psychometric data, carrying out candidates interviews and generating detailed profile reports
  • Giving feedback to clients and assessed individuals, alongside search colleagues
  • Creating client ready reports on teams and individuals
  • Helping to design and facilitate off site events
  • Developing marketing collateral with the Marketing Manager

Developing your internal and external business development skills over time, to help expand existing and create new client relationships.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • BSc & MSc level occupational / business psychology, or a related discipline
  • Prior experience in a professional services environment ideally Business Psychology Consulting but potentially Executive Search, or a progressive HR / OD team
  • High service orientation - the desire to delight clients and colleagues with outstanding contributions
  • An enthusiasm to be part of continuing to build the function; able to tolerate an emerging approach and environment / structure
  • A deep interest in the commercial world and the human component of it
  • A natural curiosity to understand the intricacies of business situations
  • Excellent written skills
  • Maturity and gravitas to operate at C-Suite level
  • Strong project management skills
  • Communicates well with colleagues and clients, both oral and written
  • Proactive, self-starter, initiative, adaptable
