We are seeking an experienced Senior Customer Network Engineer to join our team, focusing on delivering large-scale, complex managed solutions to our customers. In this critical role, you will leverage your expertise to deliver secure, resilient, and high-performing network solutions.

We are rapidly expanding our fibre rollout, building on our extensive national network of dark fibre and fixed wireless. We operate at the forefront of full-fibre network technology, innovating with automation, software-defined architecture, and NFV to enhance customer experiences. Remote working is supported, with at least 3 days per week in Manchester HQ as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary technical authority on customer network implementation projects, ensuring deliverables meet specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and technical teams.
  • Lead configuration, installation, and deployment of network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, access points).
  • Implement scalable LAN, WLAN, WAN, and security solutions tailored to customer needs.
  • Implement and troubleshoot WAN technologies, including MPLS, SD-WAN, VPNs, and other connectivity solutions.
  • Serve as an escalation point for the Customer Network Provisioning Team, providing expert guidance.
  • Maintain comprehensive network documentation.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical updates.
  • Mentor junior network engineers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your line manager.
Skills, Knowledge, and ExpertiseEssential
  • Proven experience in complex network environments, preferably within MSP or Enterprise settings.
  • Expertise in TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, switching, and security principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Fortinet Fortigate firewalls, SD-WAN, and SASE.
  • Strong knowledge of WAN technologies like SD-WAN, MPLS, VPNs.
  • Experience with Juniper Mist wireless and wired solutions.
  • Proven ability to deliver network projects from conception to deployment.
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Certifications such as JNCIP, FCP/FCX, CCNP, Juniper Mist.
