Weβre seeking a talented Commercial Underwriter to join Geo Underwriting. This pivotal role offers flexibility for either office-based, home-based, or hybrid working arrangements. You will be responsible for driving the acquisition and retention of profitable, target business in line with company underwriting strategies across Geo Agriculture products. Your tasks include generating new business opportunities, underwriting, and maximizing existing business retention.
Key responsibilities include:
- Initiate and develop new underwriting opportunities across relationships and products.
- Demonstrate strong technical capabilities, trading, and negotiating skills to retain and acquire business.
- Develop and maintain key account underwriting relationships.
- Maintain knowledge and trading ability across all relevant Geo Agriculture binders.
- Underwrite or take underwriting lead on complex risks.
- Support product administration and development.
- Collaborate with the technical team to develop new underwriting opportunities.
- Acquire and retain profitable target business.
- Achieve team and individual targets.
Ideal candidate profile:
- Proven underwriting experience with Commercial Combined policies such as liability or property.
- Effective training style, including experience as a trainer.
- Experience writing profitable business in the Agriculture market is desirable.
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory insurance frameworks.
- Strong decision-making confidence.
- Effective communication skills at all levels.
- Highly organized with a focus on objectives and priorities.
