Are you passionate about solving complex technical challenges and supporting cutting-edge applications in a dynamic, customer-facing environment? We’re looking for a proactive and analytical Application Support Analyst to join our collaborative support team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of business-critical software used by banks and financial institutions. You’ll use your technical expertise to investigate, resolve, and prevent application issues, working with everything from SQL databases to containerised infrastructure.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Investigating, re-creating, and analysing incidents to identify root causes and propose both short-term fixes and long-term improvements.
  • Enhancing first-level resolution rates by following and contributing to robust support procedures.
  • Escalating complex issues to appropriate internal experts while maintaining ownership and visibility.
  • Collaborating regularly with customers, third-party vendors, and internal software teams to ensure effective incident management.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting workarounds and fixes to restore normal service efficiently.
  • Growing your knowledge of our applications, banking processes, and support tools through technical and functional training.

Please note: successful applicants will be required to apply for SC (Security Check) clearance, so must have resided in the UK for a minimum of five years.

What are we looking for?

  • A degree or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, with 1–3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a logical, analytical mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in SQL and MongoDB.
  • Solid understanding of Java and its use in backend systems.
  • Experience working with modern DevOps tools and environments, including: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, Git.
