As a MathsScience Subject Lead, you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of the school curriculum in a way that maximises pupil’s achievement and ability to develop. As the MathsScience Subject Lead your work will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure and you will be working in a school where we maintain a strong safeguarding culture, where pupils are listened to, respected and involved in as many decisions as possible. Job Purpose * To teach to a high standard and ensure all pupils access the knowledge relevant to the subject area * Liaise with other OFG schools to ensure development of the curriculum areas * Develop the scheme of learning for the curriculum areas and have an oversight of planning across the pathways * Monitor progress of pupils and put in place interventions where pupils are underachieving. * Maintain a development plan for the subject areas * Keep updated of changes within the curriculum areas and disseminate these to staff * Quality assure the teaching and learning of the subject areas * Support the development of staff and challenge the underperformance of staff * Attend middle leader training within school * Deliver training to develop staff on pedagogical developments * Liaise with the exams officer to ensure accurate entries are made for qualifications related to the subjects * To teach a range of subjects as necessary to ensure the effective delivery of the school’s curriculum **To view the job description, please click here -** **About us** Overton School provides specialist care and education for young people aged.
