Enterprise Business Development Representative (BDR)
Location: King\’s Cross, London (Hybrid – 2 days office-based)
Why now?
We\’re at that magical moment where everything\’s coming together at GN TEQ, and we need someone special to join us on this journey. As our very first Business Development Representative, you won\’t just be another hire β you\’ll be the pioneer who helps us build something incredible from scratch.
We\’re growing very fast, reaching new global markets, and the energy here is absolutely electric. You\’ll work hand-in-hand with our Business Development Director to shape how we connect with potential partners and clients. No rigid playbooks or corporate red tape here β this is your chance to make your mark and help write our story.
This Role Isn\’t For You If…
- You believe in aggressive, pushy sales tactics
- You\’re just looking to hit send on mass templated emails
- You see prospects as numbers rather than real businesses with real challenges
- You prefer following rigid scripts over having authentic conversations
- You\’re uncomfortable asking thoughtful questions and truly listening
- You want a traditional \’smile and dial\’ BDR role
This Role IS For You If…
- You believe in building real relationships, not just transactions
- You\’re genuinely curious about understanding business challenges
- You get excited about connecting people with solutions that could genuinely help them
- You\’re comfortable saying \”actually, we might not be the right fit\” when that\’s the truth
- You want to be part of building something meaningful from the ground up
What This Role is Really About
You\’ll be the person who spots those golden opportunities where we might be able to make a real difference to an organization. But more than that, you\’ll be the one who starts those meaningful conversations that could turn into lasting partnerships. Think global! Your conversations could start in Tokyo, move to Paris for lunch, and end in New York and back to Sydney may be – all from our King\’s Cross office (well, 2 days a week anyway). And because you\’ll be our first BDR, you\’ll get to help us figure out the best way to do all of this – no cookie-cutter approaches here.
Your Day-to-Day Impact
Here\’s what you\’ll actually be doing with us:
- Get creative about how we reach out to the right people. You\’ll find clever ways to connect with decision-makers who might genuinely benefit from what we do. No spray-and-pray approaches here – we\’re after quality conversations.
- Work side-by-side with our Business Development Director to build smart targeting strategies. Together, you\’ll figure out which companies we should be talking to and the best ways to start those conversations.
- Be a bit of a detective. You\’ll dig deep to understand who the key players are in each company and what keeps them up at night. The goal? Spot where we could actually make their lives easier.
- Make those first vital connections. You\’ll reach out to potential partners, have initial conversations to understand their needs, and identify if there might be a good fit for a deeper conversation with our senior team.
- Keep track of what\’s working (and what isn\’t). Using our sales tools, you\’ll measure your outreach efforts and constantly fine-tune your approach. We\’re big on learning and improving together.
You\’ll Thrive Here If You…
- Have dipped your toes in B2B sales development (ideally a year or more) – but your attitude matters more than the exact number of years
- Can naturally connect the dots between business challenges and potential solutions
- Write authentic emails that people actually want to read and aren\’t afraid to pick up the phone to start a conversation
- Are comfortable with not every call going your way – it\’s about learning and improving, not obsessing over every outcome
- Love being a bit of a detective – researching companies, understanding their world, and spotting opportunities
- Are comfortable with tech – we use modern sales tools and CRMs to work smarter, not harder
- Get excited about learning new things and aren\’t afraid to try, fail, and learn
- Have a creative side – whether you\’ve done theatre, music, public speaking, or just love storytelling. This isn\’t essential, but we\’ve found it helps!
Why This Role is Different
Here\’s the real deal:
- You\’re joining us at the beginning. As our first BDR, you\’ll help shape how we do things – your ideas and input will matter from day one
- Our Business Development Director will be invested in your success – you\’ll get direct mentorship and support, not just occasional check-ins
- We\’re based in a buzzing part of London (King\’s Cross), but we believe in balance – come in 2 days a week, work from home the rest
- We reward success properly – base salary plus uncapped commission because we believe in celebrating wins
- We\’ll invest in your growth – proper training and development, not just a dusty handbook
- Join a team that actually means it when we say we value fresh thinking and working together
So, What\’s GN TEQ All About?
We are a tech company that builds software that makes international e-commerce deliveries actually work much easier. You know how complicated it gets when you try to ship things across borders, especially when you\’re dealing with multiple carriers, freight forwarders, and customs requirements? That\’s exactly what we\’re fixing.
Our solutions are already being used by:
- Freight forwarders and logistics companies who want to offer better e-commerce services
- Post offices updating their systems for modern e-commerce needs
- Airlines making smarter use of their cargo space
- Online retailers trying to reach customers worldwide
We\’re at an exciting crossroads here. We\’re growing fast, and we need someone who gets why that\’s amazing. You won\’t be walking into a rigid system with fixed rules – you\’ll be helping us create something special from scratch. And yes, building something new comes with its challenges, but that\’s what makes it exciting.
We\’re not just saying \”join our team\” – we\’re saying \”help us write our story.\” You\’ll have the backing, tools, and support you need, plus a team that\’s genuinely invested in your success. If the idea of creating rather than just following gets you excited, if you believe business relationships should be real and meaningful, and if you want to look back in a few years and say \”I helped build that\” – then let\’s talk.
