A leading technology consultancy is delivering a high-impact fibre network transformation programme on behalf of a major UK telecoms provider. This role will lead on the delivery of fibre clearance and site rationalisation across a large portfolio of active network locations, supporting the decommissioning of legacy infrastructure.
Fibre Delivery Manager Responsibilities:
- Deliver end-to-end fibre and network clearance activity across multiple sites
- Coordinate field partners for civils, cabling, splicing, audits and outages
- Review HLDs, LLDs and job packs, escalating issues where required
- Oversee build partner performance and delivery progress
- Manage cable outages and mitigate disruption to live services
- Maintain accurate records using Planner, Excel, SharePoint and Power BI
- Proactively escalate risks such as GIS mismatches, deployment delays or access issues
- Engage key stakeholders across planning, build, and programme delivery teams
- Support tooling transition away from legacy systems and contribute to reporting governance
- Ensure GIS and network inventories are updated following fieldwork
Fibre Delivery Manager Requirements:
- Current SC clearance is essential
- Strong background in fibre network delivery, ideally within decommissioning or network transformation
- Knowledge of OSP/ISP fibre infrastructure: civils, cabling, splicing, audits
- Experience managing external build partners and coordinating multi-site delivery
- Able to interpret planning documentation including HLDs, LLDs, schematics, and job packs
- Familiar with complex outages, change requests and site cease processes
- Proficient in Planner, Excel, SharePoint, Power BI, and GIS (preferably GE Smallworld)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Calm under pressure, delivery-focused, and escalation-ready
- Desirable certifications: PRINCE2, PMP, SMSTS, NEBOSH, NRSWA Unit 1
