Position Details Department of Applied Health Sciences, School of Health Sciences, College of Medicine and Health Location: University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham UK Full-time starting salary is normally in the range Β£43,555 to Β£73,506 Type: Clinical, Full Time, Fixed Term contract up to 4 years or CCT, whichever is sooner Closing date: 15th June 2025 Role Summary An NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer (ACL) post offers doctors in specialty training a combination of 50% clinical specialty training (clinical service provision for GPs) and 50% academic training. It provides a maximum of 4 yearsβ funding or runs until the trainee achieves their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), whichever is sooner. The ACL post offers opportunities for post-doctoral research and supports applications for further research funding for doctors progressing towards their specialty training completion. It is designed for candidates demonstrating outstanding potential through doctoral research success and showing further potential as a clinical academic in research and/or educational research. Applicants should have submitted and fully awarded their final Doctoral thesis by the time of application. The start date for the post is September 1st, 2025.
