Our client in Ballymena is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Night Shift Transport Planner to join their dynamic team. As a key member of the Transport Team, you will work closely with directors, drivers, sub-contractors, and customers to manage and coordinate daily vehicle operations across the UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Route Planning: Utilise proven route planning skills to optimise vehicle routes and schedules - Plan loads activity based on priorities (orders, location, etc).
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with the Transport Team and directors to ensure seamless operations.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Communicate with drivers, sub-contractors, and customers to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction - Liaising with customers to regularly update accurate ETA information.
  • Problem Solving: Apply excellent problem-solving skills to address operational challenges - Troubleshooting critical transport related issues as they arise in a live environment.
  • Software Proficiency: Demonstrate a good working knowledge of Excel and experience with Transport Management Systems.

Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a similar transport planning role.
  • Certifications: Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) is advantageous but not essential.
  • Driving Licence: Hold a Full Driving Licence.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are essential for this role.
