We are seeking a talented Marketing Designer to join our Brand and Marketing Studio, supporting some of our flagship titles and exciting brand extensions. We are looking for someone who brings energy, originality and strategic thinking to every brief. ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Role Overview: You will work across the DC Thomson portfolio, creating distinct brand and marketing assets for priority brands. You will support our flagship brands and brand extensions, such as events, with style guides and best practice. You will also create brand and marketing campaigns and be able to work on multi-platform campaigns, with expertise across digital, social and print.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand the nuances of design across all platforms and best practices, with a passion and a drive to push our brand offering forward through innovative products and techniques.
  • Design brand and marketing assets, for both print and digital (web and social).
  • Attend briefings and present work and mock ups back to the Creative Director and brand teams when required.
  • Be an expert voice in brainstorms, advising on the most engaging, effective and efficient asset treatment.
  • If shoots are required, create shoot moodboards and assist in the production, including booking photographers, casting models and art directing on shoots where appropriate.
  • Brief and supervise illustrators and freelancers, feeding back when required to achieve best-in-class results and relationships.
  • Build and maintain a strong network across the DC Thomson organisation.

Key Requirements:

  • Good understanding of DC Thomson brands both in print and digital, to better support brand articulation.
  • Proficient in the Adobe Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects and Illustrator.
  • A passion to explore new digital trends and products – understanding the necessary skills to create innovative new formats.
  • Desire to approach challenges with a solutions-based attitude that supports the sales, content and production teams in delivering exceptional campaigns.
  • Proven experience and ability to manage commissioned suppliers and ensure that all agreed requirements are fulfilled and that the quality is upheld and delivered on time.

  • Extremely organised when dealing with schedules, workloads and filing systems, with an eye for quality and detail.

  • Excellent influencing and communication skills, with integrity and respect for confidentiality.

The role presents the opportunity of hybrid working that must include regular office attendance. The duration of the contract will depend on the return date of the current postholder, who is on maternity leave.
