We are looking to recruit a full-time doctor to take up a Specialist role under 2021 contract terms in Ophthalmology. The main base is Chesterfield Royal, a busy district general hospital, where you will work as part of our established ophthalmic team. The department collaborates with local tertiary trusts in the surrounding area.

This is a senior appointment for an individual with substantial experience in the ophthalmic field. The successful candidate is expected to develop into a leadership role, with responsibility for middle-tier medical staff and active participation in the operational management of the department and development of expanding services.

The appointee will have opportunities to develop sub-specialty skills and there are opportunities to pursue further nascent sub-specialty interests within the role. Responsibilities

As a Specialist in Ophthalmology, the role includes leadership responsibilities within the department and involvement in operational management and development of services. The post requires good general ophthalmic skills with a willingness to develop sub-specialty skills and to pursue CESR-aligned training where applicable.
