City/State Norfolk, VA Work Shift Third (Nights) Overview: Sentara Norfolk General is currently hiring a Registered Nurse to join the Rehabilitation Nursing Department. Shift: Flexi (PRN) – Nights Job Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing competent nursing care based on the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, care coordination, teaching, and health promotion, along with professional performance standards such as ethics, communication, collaboration, leadership, and evidence-based practice. The RN should possess the clinical knowledge and skills necessary to meet the standards required by their specific clinical area. Unit Description: Unit 9A is a 16-bed medical/surgical unit specializing in rehabilitation. Nurses gain skills in physical assessments, IV therapy, central line care, pain management, skin and wound care, burn trauma care, medication administration, and developing care goals with an interdisciplinary team including physical, occupational, and speech therapists. We seek compassionate nurses to help educate and encourage patients to self-manage and ensure a smooth transition to home and community settings. Education: ADN required; BSN or higher preferred. Certification: Virginia or multistate RN license in good standing. Experience: Nursing experience required; inpatient rehab experience is a plus.
