Baltic Recruitment is supporting a market-leading manufacturing client in their search for a Design Engineer.
Overall Purpose
The Design Engineer reports directly to the Head of Engineering and is supervised by a Lead Engineer. They support new product development and engineering change activities. The role involves CAD design, creating supporting documentation, prototype building, and testing. The engineer will also support and develop new patent-protectable technologies. The Design Engineer manages project engineering tasks, including time and resource management, and supports project administration.
Key Duties
- Design and develop new products and systems.
- Support the Senior/Lead Design Engineer in product development.
- Create and maintain 3D & 2D data.
- Provide technical expertise.
- Research and benchmark competitor products and potential future products.
- Identify and support the integration of new technologies and materials.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate project status at the department level.
- Participate in prototype builds and testing.
- Support engineering change activities.

- Proficiency in 3D/2D CAD.
- Understanding of GD&T.
- Experience with FEA/CAE.
- Knowledge of DFMEA.

The Package
- Salary circa £42,000 per annum.
