Base pay range Direct message the job poster from Tech Connect Group Recruitment Account Manager at TCG | Motorsport, Defence & Clean Tech Start-ups | X-McLaren Production Lead Our client Our client is an electronics and technology SME operating in the field of aerospace, defence and government, involved in the design and sale of electronic-scanning ground radar systems. The role The Radar Systems Engineer will maximise the performance and characteristics of our client\’s radars, guiding implementation and defining key parameters for their RF, DSP and software teams. You will be investigating, analysing, and modelling a variety of radar signal processing algorithms and waveforms to select the best options for our client\’s new radar design. Key responsibilities: Working closely with our client’s Senior Engineering team to develop new radar products Taking responsibility for aspects of the system design of the radar including specifying the hardware architecture, RF performance characteristics, waveform design and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms You will take ownership of the existing radar models and will develop and extend them to add new features and capabilities to the radar. Your tasks will also include radar trials analysis and preparation of antenna calibration data for the range of radars. Qualifications: Mathematics, engineering or physics degree Strong mathematical and analytical skills Industry experience of radar system design or satellite communication system design Understanding of the radar equation and its influence on radar architecture, waveform design and signal processing methods Knowledge of multi-function radar design and/or phased-array antenna design Knowledge of real-world radio effects (e.g. multipath, weather, clutter) Use of Matlab, Mathcad or similar Familiarity with microwave waveguide structures and electromagnetic (EM) simulation Familiarity with RF Pro or Keysight SystemVue Experience of patent preparation Active involvement in the radar industry (seminars, generating papers etc) Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Engineering, Design, and Manufacturing Industries Appliances, Electrical, and Electronics Manufacturing and Defense and Space Manufacturing #J-18808-Ljbffr
