The responsibilities of the Academic Compliance Specialists include:
- State Regulatory Reporting and Compliance
- State Authorization
- Academic Operational Audit and Compliance
- New and Revised Program Applications and Implementation
- Programmatic Accreditation Reporting and Compliance
- Compliance Process, Communication, and Documentation
This role interacts with constituents at all levels of the University as well as external regulatory partners to ensure ongoing compliance. Developing standard processes and documentation that support those processes will be a primary responsibility. The role involves collaboration with System Division Chairs on developing standard regulatory submission templates, working with the Data Analytics/Compliance team to define reporting requirements for third-party regulators, and with the Academic Operations Leadership team on developing audit checklists and timeframes.
Experience and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, related field, or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred
- Two years of experience working in higher education
- Prior experience interacting with post-secondary education regulatory bodies
- Five years of experience engaged in post-secondary education compliance (preferred)
- Experience in developing and submitting applications to post-secondary regulatory bodies (preferred)
- Report writing education or experience (preferred)
Physical and Other Requirements:
- Must be able to remain stationary 50% of the time
- Ability to move around campus, classrooms, clinical settings, etc., as needed
- Effective verbal communication with students, faculty, staff, and colleagues
- Visual or other assessment capabilities
- Operate program-specific equipment, personal computers, audio-visual, clinical equipment, etc.
- Travel up to 30% for off-site meetings, conferences, or campus visits
